There is algorithmic bias all around us. A big example of this is in cookies and ads on websites. All sorts of websites and apps collect your data which can range anywhere from your contacts to what you search and look at on your computer or phone. I've heard of these ways that computers can essentially stalk you and learn more about your preferences for the purpose of showing ads that you're more likely to be interested in. It's a bit scary that they are capable of doing such things and it feels to be quite the invasion of personal space. Being aware of how things are influenced by what you do on the computer you can actually take advantage of this by specifically searching or looking at stuff in order to have ads to your liking.
